The Fontana Difference
CTDA is located on the Swift facility in California and is home to experienced, knowledgeable instructors with more than 55 years of combined experience. Not only that, but they're patient, and can help you learn the skills you'll need to be a safe, competent driver for Swift.
In addition, during the CTDA program, you'll meet some incredible instructors and students who will become lifelong friends – and you'll train on some of the best Swift fleet equipment available. All of the on-the-range and over-the-road training is conducted using a top-of-the-line fleet automatic transmission trucks that are less than five years old.
How it Works
If you are interested in earning your Class A CDL and working for Swift, you can apply now. Once you are accepted by Swift and officially enrolled in CTDA, you'll arrive at the training facility and go through the following:
- Attend California Truck Driving Academy classes, which take three weeks to complete (including passing your Class A CDL road exams).
- Upon graduating from the CTDA program, you will have the skills to obtain your California Class A CDL License.
- Meet your Swift mentor and begin your over-the-road training.
- After OTR training, you will be released as a solo driver and begin your driving career with Swift Transportation.
