Celebrating Swift Transportation's 60th Anniversary
Together 60 Years Strong

For our employees, this anniversary is personal. It represents years of hard work, early mornings, long nights, and pride in keeping America moving. It reflects relationships built over time, lessons learned on the road and in the terminals, and a shared commitment to doing the job the right way.

For our leadership, this milestone represents responsibility, trust, and vision. It reflects decades of guiding teams through change and exponential growth. Swift leadership makes decisions with people and safety at the center. Their leadership has helped position Swift not just to succeed, but to endure the ever changing landscape of the industry.

For the industry, Swift’s 60 years represent consistency, growth, and leadership. Through the years, Swift has adapted through changing technology, evolving regulations, and shifting demands. All while staying grounded in the values that got us here. We value safety, service, and respect for the people behind the wheel and behind the scenes.

Gary Crone - Terminal Leader
35 Years at Swift
I have been on a team that has made Swift the largest trucking company in America. When I started, Thomas Guides and loads were on paper, there were no computers, cell-phones, or tablets, and no automatic trucks. Swift knows how to adapt and does it quickly for the size of it.
As a terminal leader, I love leading people to success, and seeing their careers move forward, no matter what path they choose.

Carlos Rosa - Logistics Planner
35 Years at Swift
I've been here since 1990, so I have seen a lot. I remember times that have been frustrating, but the good times make it so worth it. I have seen acquisitions and new people from other companies that joined our team. They always bring in their own set of knowledge that maybe we didn't think of before.
One of the biggest changes I have seen over the years is the way Swift shifted to taking care of the driver, our most valuable resource. It means a lot to me to be with Swift through so many changes, but my biggest takeaway from all these years are the relationships I have built.

Calvin Fowler - Driver Evaluator
38 Years at Swift
When I joined Swift, it was a small company. They only had approximately 100 trucks and 4 terminals, and the executives knew every driver by name.
Over the years, Swift has changed and grown dramatically. Technology has helped to make driving safer and more efficient. I can retire from Swift, knowing that I have done a lot to help new drivers build a safe career.

Shannon McKinnon - VP National Accounts
34 Years at Swift
Swift has always had a family-like structure to it. For the last 30 years, I have managed a lot of the same accounts and have built strong relationships with our customers.
Through time, Swift has changed by becoming very high-tech and more analytical when making decisions with customers. Swift has always stayed on the leading edge, adapting to change and technology investments. I have made the right choice to make a lifelong career with the best transportation company in the country.

Mark Kinkead - Top Gun Facilitator/Instructor
36 Years at Swift
Swift has been very good to me over the years! I have always been treated like family! I love the culture. I love my job! To be part of this for 36 of the 60 years make me feel honored! Some of the things I have learned over the years are to always be a team player, and be adaptable to change. That is how we grow as a company!
Swift is one of the leading transportation companies in the industry with the most modern technology, the best management teams, and a strong culture of safety and trust. It gives me great honor to be part of Swift's history! I love this company! I bleed Swift blue! That is why I have been here for over 36 years!

Steven Cox - Terminal Leader
37 Years at Swift
Being a part of Swift’s history makes me appreciate all the people we work with everyday past and present. There were so many people that believed in me and gave me a chance. That is Swift.
Swift has always been willing to try new things, including adapting to the newest technology, meeting customers’ needs quickly, and giving many people different opportunities to thrive within the company. Swift was founded through vision and the ability to focus on the goal and work through adversity to achieve those goals. It’s the same today with even more opportunities in a great company and future.

Russel Kepner - Dedicated Flatbed Driver
31 Years at Swift
I’ve been with Swift for almost 31 years. I joined in 1995 as a new father looking for steady work close to home, and Swift gave me that opportunity. Over the years I’ve held just about every flatbed role you can think of, and I stayed because I was never given a reason to leave—the support has always been there. The company was smaller and growing fast when I started, and the work was tough then just like it is now, but technology has changed everything for the better.
My advice to anyone starting today: don’t listen to the haters. Swift has real opportunities for anyone willing to put in the work. I’m living proof of that, and I’m proud to have played even a small part in the company’s success.

Daniel Ross - Driver Qualification Facilitator
27 Years at Swift
Reaching Swift’s 60th anniversary is meaningful to me, especially having spent 27 of those years here. When I look back at where we started, the biggest change I’ve seen is the company’s focus on drivers—their well‑being, how they’re treated, and the respect they receive.
My advice to anyone joining today is simple: stay flexible, learn different parts of the job, and find what truly makes you happy within the company. The industry has evolved significantly, especially with new technology, and Swift has adapted by improving hiring practices, safety, and compliance. Being part of Swift’s history is something I’m proud of. Many of the people I work with have been here just as long or longer, and after all these years, it feels like family.

Joy Lee - VP of Sales West
32 Years at Swift
I joined Swift 32 years ago after moving from Pennsylvania to Arizona and applying for an opening making delivery appointments for drivers. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to grow through many roles across customer service, operations, planning, intermodal, and sales. What has kept me here is the incredible people and the fact that no two days are ever the same.
Being part of more than half of Swift's 60-year history is something I'm incredibly proud of. I've seen the company and industry evolve in many ways, but Swift's commitment to its people, especially our drivers, has remained constant. My advice to new employees is to work hard, respect others, and be a team player because the opportunities at Swift are endless.

Cheryl Taylor - Onsite Leader
27 Years at Swift
My passion for transportation is what originally brought me to Swift. Over the years, I’ve held several roles, including Cargo Claims Specialist, Hazmat Specialist, Extended Coverage Team, JIT Account Leader, Service Recovery Leader, Customer Account Leader, and now Onsite Leader for Bass Pro. I stayed because of the people and the culture. The team environment and support make it a place I want to be.
Reaching Swift’s 60th anniversary means being part of something bigger and knowing I’ve contributed to that legacy. I’ve seen real growth in communication, technology, and culture, and Swift has remained focused on safety, service, and maintaining a strong culture. Being part of Swift’s history means being part of a legacy built on strong people and hard work, and taking pride in the role I’ve played in that journey.

John Brower - Dedicated Implementation & Backhaul Leader
26 Years at Swift
I joined Swift because I wanted to get back to the Southwest, and Swift gave me that opportunity. Over the years, I’ve held roles as a Driver Manager and Implementation Leader. What made me stay is simple: the people and the culture.
Reaching Swift’s 60th anniversary is an amazing milestone, and I’m proud to be a small part of its history. While technology has driven significant change and improved efficiency and safety, the basics remain the same. The relationship with our drivers is the most critical part of the job, and if the driver is successful, then we’re all successful.
