Getting Started

At the Swift Fort Drum Onsite, classes run from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Part-time classes are also available Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This way, once you're accepted into our program, you can start training with Swift when it suits you best.

After attending the Swift Fort Drum Onsite, you can seamlessly transition from training to employment and into the Swift family!

Important Details 

  • Class A CDL training courses designed for service members, veterans and their spouses who wish to develop civilian tractor-trailer experience
  • The full-time program is available for service members transitioning out of the military within 180 days and who qualify for the Career Skills Program(CSP)
  • Behind-the-wheel training is conducted around the Fort Drum and Watertown area
  • This onsite school has contracted with the Department of Defense(DOD) with a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) to train at Fort Drum
  • The end goal is to provide students who complete a CDL training course with opportunities for truck driving jobs
