With over 100 years of not only industry experience but Swift experience, our leadership team is part of what makes Swift "Best in Class". This team of tenured transportation experts is ready to lead Swift into the future.

  • Jerry Moyes


    Jerry Moyes relocated to Phoenix in 1966 and began hauling steel with his one truck, forming a partnership with a steel importer called Common Market Dist. Corp., which he later merged with a company he founded, Swift Transportation.  In 1986, he was named Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and President of the company. Mr. Moyes is a graduate of Weber State College with a B.S. in Business and an honorary doctorate degree.  Through the years he has also been involved in a number of other organizations, serving as vice president of the American Trucking Association and president of the Arizona Trucking Association.  He served as a board member of the Truckload Carriers Association, a director for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and a member of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Brigham Young University.

  • Kenneth C. Runnels

    Executive Vice President of Operations

    Ken Runnels has served as Executive Vice President of Operations since December 2007. His current responsibilities include overseeing all of the Dry, Dedicated and Linehaul operations. Ken began his career with Swift Transportation in 1983 as a log auditor, and over the next few years was quickly promoted through various operations positions and was promoted to Terminal Manager in March of 1989. Since 1983 Ken has held a myriad of positions, including Terminal Manager at several locations, Regional Vice President, and Vice President of Fleet Operations. With the exception of a brief period from July 2006 to November 2007, Ken has spent his transportation career with Swift. Ken helped grow Swift from a 140 truck operation in 1983 to our current truck count of 18,000.

  • Tim Guin

    Executive Vice President of Sales

    Tim Guin began his Swift career in 1988. Since then, he has succeeded in several key customer-centric positions within our Company, including VP of National Accounts and VP of Eastern Region Sales. For a brief time away from Swift, Tim served as Vice President of Business Development in charge of Mergers and Acquisitions for USX Enterprises.  He later became President of Arnold Transportation where he served until 2011. Outside of work, Tim serves as a board member of the University of Georgia TPS and assists on the Administrative Board of Mauldin United Methodist Church.  

    Tim earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Winthrop University.  Residing in Greenville, South Carolina, he has been married for 28 years and has two daughters.

  • Adam Miller

    Chief Financial Officer

    Adam Miller joined Knight in September 2002.  He was appointed as Knight’s CFO in May 2012 and has also served as Knight’s Secretary and Treasurer since February 2011.  Prior to becoming CFO of the Company, Mr. Miller served as the Senior Vice President of Accounting and Finance from February 2011 to May 2012 and as Controller of Knight Refrigerated, LLC from January 2006 to February 2011.  Prior to his appointment as Controller of Knight Refrigerated, LLC, Mr. Miller served in several other accounting and finance positions at Knight since 2002.  Mr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Arizona State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Arizona.    

  • Kevin Quast

    Chief Operating Officer

    Kevin Quast joined Knight Transportation in January 1996.  He has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer since February 2011.  Prior to his appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Quast served as the Business Unit Leader for the Southeast since May 2010.  Prior to his appointment as Business Unit Leader for the Southeast, Mr. Quast served in several senior sales and operations positions in the Southeast region since 2001 and in other operating departments since 1996.

  • Kevin Knight


    Knight Transportation was founded in 1990 by Randy, Keith, Gary, and Kevin Knight. Kevin has served as Chairman of the Board since May 1999 and served as CEO from 1993 through 2014. He has been an officer and Director of the Company since 1990. From 1975 to 1984 and again from 1986 to 1990, Mr. Knight was employed by Swift Transportation where he served as Executive Vice President and President of Cooper Motor Lines, Inc. Kevin serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the American Trucking Association.
